B3 Origin – An Update
In October 2020, we welcomed 19 participants to our first online-only programme, B3 Origin. The programme is based on our acclaimed in-person programme TalentLab, which we moved online to coach, create and collaborate on screen-based projects via Zoom. We were pleased to see that the physical distance between our Origin participants did nothing to dampen their ability to bond and aspire to creative excellence.
Together with lead mentor Nelson George (author, critic and filmmaker), our cohort of emerging talent has dived deep into the creative process of filmmaking. They got the chance to generate new ideas in groups that brought together people from different disciplines – from AR to immersive theatre – and often with explosive effects!
We’ve really enjoyed helping our participants to define their creative practice during what has been a difficult year. And we’re only halfway through the programme: 2021 will reveal the next phase for B3 Origin. In the New Year, participants will develop their own projects, road-test their ideas with their peers, and work with an assigned industry practitioner who will mentor them in the process of taking their concept through the crisis and beyond.
If you’re interested in volunteering for the next programme as an industry practitioner, reach out to us.
If you’d like to get involved as a participant, please join our waitlist for updates about our next B3 Origin.
